Morrissey Insurance, Inc. is a member of the financial services industry and, as such, our agency has been and continues to be subject to federal and state privacy laws regarding the collection and exchange of your information. The following is B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc.’s privacy policy regarding the customer information we collect. Contained in this privacy policy you will find (1) an explanation of the types of information B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. collects from our clients and the means used to collect such information, (2) an explanation of the how B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. shares the information collected from our clients, (3) an explanation of how B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. protects client information, and (4) an opportunity for you to opt-out of certain types of information sharing in which B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. engages.

II. Information we collect and the means used to collect:
B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. collects information about our customers that is necessary to provide those services usual and customary to independent insurance agents. B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. collects this necessary information from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications and/or any other applicable forms; this information may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, and date of birth.
- Information about our clients’ transactions with us; this information may include, but is not limited to, claims and payment history.
- Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency; this information may include, but is not limited to, a driving record or insurance score report.
To collect customer information from the above-stated sources, B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. may use the following means of communication to gather information: written, in-person, telephone, facsimile, electronically, and on-line.
III. How we share client information with non-affiliated third parties:
Under certain circumstances, the law permits B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. to disclose information that we collect (as described above) about you or others without your permission. For example, B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. may share client information with non-affiliated third parties without your permission for the following reasons:
- Information that is necessary to service or process the insurance needs of our clients, in a manner that is consistent with the usual and customary services provided by independent insurance agents. Such usual and customary services or processes provided by B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. to its customers include but are not limited to underwriting, shopping the renewal, rating, placement, and providing quotes for insurance that is germane to the coverage the customer places with our agency.
- Information that is necessary to protect the confidentiality or security of our client’s records
- Information that is necessary to resolve client disputes or inquiries
- Information that is required by individuals or entities who are assessing our legal compliance.
- Information that is required for B.C. Morrissey Insurance, Inc. to comply with the law.
- Information requested by an actuarial or research organization for the purpose of conducting actuarial or research studies
- Information that is necessary to protect against or prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims, or other liability
However, the instances in which we would share information with a third party would be:
- Our customers and/or prospects give us direct consent to submit their name, address and phone number to the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania for potential membership in the organization and to companies that have a joint marketing agreement with us
IV. Our practices regarding information confidentiality and security:
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your information. These safeguards include but are not limited to the following:
- We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about our clients and former clients to those employees who need to know that information in order to assist in providing services or products to the customer.
- We will punish any employees who impermissibly share client information
- We use a secure Internet and e-mail provider to protect the confidentiality of electronic communications
V. Federal Crop Insurance Addendum:
The following statements are made in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a): The Risk Management Agency (RMA) is authorized by the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1501-1524) or other Acts, and the regulations promulgated thereunder, to solicit the information requested on documents established by RMA or by approved insurance providers (AIPs) that have been approved by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) to deliver Federal crop insurance. The information necessary for AIPs and RMA to operate the Federal crop insurance program, determine program eligibility, conduct statistical analysis, and ensure program integrity. Information provided herein may be furnished to other Federal, State or local agencies, as required or permitted by law, law enforcement agencies, courts or adjudicative bodies, foreign agencies, magistrate, administrative tribunal, AIPs contractors and cooperators, Comprehensive Information Management System (CIMS), congressional offices, or entities under contract with RMA. For insurance agents, certain information may also be disclosed to the public to assist interested individuals in location agents in a particular area. Disclosure of the information requested is voluntary. However, failure to correctly report the requested information may result in the rejection of this document by the AIP or RMA in accordance with the Standard Reinsurance Agreement between the AIP and FCIC, Federal regulations, or RMA-approved procedures and the denial of program eligibility or benefits derived therefrom. Also, failure to provide true and correct information may result in civil suit or criminal prosecution and the assessment of penalties or pursuit of other remedies.
